300watt heaters (nitrous outlet, harris, dynotune) draw 22amps @13.8v
240 watt heaters (nx) draw 17amps @13.8v
225 watt heaters (860) draw 16amps @13.8v

i set up a relay for jaegmc99 at his heater because for some reason the first person to wire it used like 26 or 28 gage, and that melted to **** , so i used 12 gage from the battery to the relay and use the old 20sumthin gage to control the relay

if your running a bottle heater usually you always run a relay on a pressure switch so the heater turns on and off within a set pressure . so yes youll need the 12 guage wire from the battery to the relay and the relay to the heater. just make sure your relay is rated at the need amperage.
