Default 5.3 mods

5.3 with basic boltons(intake,exhaust,e-fans,mail tune, and cam) so that + a 150 or more shot nitrous(what would be a safe shot on stock 5.3) what would have to be done to the tranny to hold boltons+nitrous(will shift kit and converter be enough?) and what about the rearend will gears and eaton be enough? looking to build an 11 second truck. thanks

wow... you just said a mouthful right there bro...
-the mods on/in your engine will have to be matched to each other to work right. i.e. cam, tuning, intake, exhaust etc... make sure all these are right and make sure that you have the ones that will work best with n20 (cam especially)
-You will definitely have to do some stuff to the tranny to make it last. convertor, shift kit, servos and a few hardened parts will make the 60e live a lot longer behind that kind of power.
-The rear will most likely need to be updated with a limited slip or locker with 3.73's or 4.10's... I am sure more people know more about this than I do but that will get you headed in the right direction. I am sure others can more accurately answer questions about specific parts and specs to ensure you arent having to rebuild it very soon... I have personally nevr built an 11 sec truck but it sounds like the right ideas... -oh yeah... dont forget that it is a truck and still designed to haul ****... you will need traction aids in the rear (cal tracs and drag radials prolly) and some weight reduction most likely... I hope this helps some at least.

Use a window switch and don't spray through the shifts, you're tranny will last a good bit longer. You can always run stuff until it breaks and then replace it with beefed up parts.

Correct, no pills. Did you get the manual I emailed?

Thanks,
Matt

The stock bottom end can handle up to a 150 safely.
I suggest upgradeing your fuel pump to stay safe. Run a window switch and change your plugs to a non platinum plug one step colder.

Nitrous is the largest bang for the buck mod wise. Nitrous also loves good flowing exhaust. I would start with nitrous, cold air, headers and exhaust.

Like matt said you can set the window switch to shut off embetween shifts. However this will cause the truck to nose down for a second while it shifts.
