Default So helllo nurse!!! Got a question while I'm here

Hello all

I am joining only to ask one simple question. I am looking at doing a v8 swap on a jimmy 2 door rwd but thought about getting a GMC serria and was told modding a pick up would need to have added weight to the rear to get traction as the wheels will take longer to grab. Is this true or am I missing something? I see on this site so many trucks are performing just fine. Is there a reason for this?

Thanks in advance

It's not rocket science.

Proper rear suspension with good tires is all you need for traction. Good shocks and traction bars at the track are most people do.

There will be a power level that street tires will be useless anyway but most manage just fine with 500+ rwhp trucks.

OK Well I want to switch it from 4x4 to awd to get all 4 tires rolling. I have yet to see a 98 or later jimmy with a swap just older. I was thinking on placing a TBSS t-case on the 98. If it is possible

1) Would I need the 4l75e (Perforamabuilt Trans) or will a 4l60e works as well (same)

2) Once done would a v8 damage it or not (ly6 swap as it is used to pull something heavier so the hp to weight)

3) How much hp is too much for a daily driver?
