proud new ( to me) GMC owner!
Hey everyone its great to be a member of this site finally. I have heard so much about it. My vehicle is a 2001 gmc sierra reg cab stepside.
It has the 4.3 v6 but I am currently looking for a supercharger kit if anyone has any opinions on the kits available. Thanks in advance and I will be sure to get some pictures up soon!

There isnt much out for the 4.3 anymore, as far as a supercharger kit is concerned. Mach Performance used to have a sweet kit that lots of guys are running 10-14psi with, but now all that is left is Wynnjammer, which has as many problems as it does positive perks.

Welcome! Congrats on the purchase!
I had a 03 Sonoma with the 4.3l and had a blast with it before I got my current truck. But now that I own a larger extended cab short bed (ECSB) Sierra 1500 with a 5.3l I can say this......pasadenaman and pewterliftedz are right! Dont spend that kind of money on supercharging a 4.3l when you can do a full engine/ecu/harnes for around the same cost. You'll get more HP with better reliablity out of a non boosted 5.3 or 6.0 than a worked over 4.3l that is screaming for every ounce of power it puts out. Trust the members on this site.....they know what they are talking about. Its just not worth the headache.

ok so dont waste my time with the 4.3? got it. It is such a slug I doubt a moderate supercharger could even come close to meeting my power desires anyways. The 6.0 sounds like a good option but how hard are these swaps?

Im not sure because I have never done one but Im sure there is a sticky thread around here that gets into details. Many people have done a motor swap on this fourm so youll definatly get some guidence.

Welcome to PT.net
You might think about SC your setup with something that will fit on a V8 later. From my understanding it takes a bit more work to swap an 8cyl into a 6cyl truck than it would to go from a 4.8 to a 6L.
Something to consider is setting up a system you can take to your next truck but still enjoy on the one you have until then?
