Name is Cole and I'm from Austin Tx... I currently have an 08 Escalade, 06 Mustang GT, 08 Jeep Wrangler and my project is a 1955 Studebaker Pick-up with a 05 chev 5.3L motor and trans... Just recieved the motor and trans and have no clue when it comes to chevy motors... any suggestions for mods for this motor? it has a cracked intake manifold and all the accessory brackets are broken... anyone know what intakes and brackets and suggestions on a cam for this swap? any ideas come forward.

Here are a few pics of my "toys"

since all the brackets are broke, buy all the fbody brackets and run a fast or ls6 intake since you need both. as far as other mods how far are you wanting to go?

I guess thats also another question I have... How far can I go while still keeping it a "driver"? I am looking to do some mods to bump the power it lays down all while keeping it 100% reliable.... at least now i know the Fbody brackets will work and are easy to come by... and I will check out the fast and ls6 intakes... I am a deaf mute when it comes to GM motors lol but im hoping to figure out what will work on this thing.

well depending on your wallet..you could bore it to a ls1 bore, and using a 4in stroke crank you would have a 383 stroker. the fast intake would great with that. if you go that route around 230-236 duration cam with a nice set of heads would be killer

Welcome man, I live in Austin myself, but I'm up in Oklahoma for school right now.

There's quite a few Austin guys but we don't get together near as much as the San Antonio, RGV, or Houston guys do.

Welcome.
Have a look around and pay attention to SIGS. You can go a long way with a 5.3 and still be a DD.
