Wassup guys! Just bought a 5.3 out of an 04 tahoe. Its getting a ls6 csm and valve springs and a tune. The best part is that its going into my 1990 k5 blazer! This will be the first ls engine I have ever owned so I have a couple questions regarding exhaust and more power! Anyways, the engine will get to my house late august so I have till then to figure out my plan!

Here's some pics of my blazer. Its a big boy, weighs in at 6,000 lbs! I hope that 5.3 is enough!

Beautiful truck! Where do you go wheeling at? I'm in camp Pendleton for another year then goin home to NorCal. I might suggest a cam other then an ls6. They do show gains but higher up as opposed to where you need it down low. I've got a comp 212/218 low lift in my truck and it turns the 285's no problem

 

Thanks! I like going up to azusa canyon right of the 57 and the 210. And I plan on running a radix supercharger later on after I get a 80e trans. From what I have read that will give me the low end I'm looking for. And I know for a fact the ls6 cam will pass smog and the guy putting it together has a tune for the engine that will put it at about 375 hp. Even in stock form tge 5.3 is giving me 80 more hp and tq than what I have.

 

Do you have a 700r4 or turbo 400 right now? Yeah those stock tbi engines suck...

 

I'm running a rebuilt 700r4 right now. After I get the 5.3 in I'm gunna get a 4l80e. This truck is also my DD so I need that OD. I think right now I'm making 175hp to the wheels haha

 

Is your engine completely stock? They make like 210 at the crank

 

I have a spacer and air filter but that's it. I saw a dyno of a 2wd and it made 185 stock. I'm 4x4 so I figure 175 is about right. I hope I can get 400 to the wheels after its all done. Thats my goal!
