Hello all.
My name is Zach. Im in the military (Air Force) and currently own a diesel truck. Im going to go to an 2007.5+ truck because my wife likes that body style better and I like them as well and want to get a newer truck. I just am in a toss up of weither to make it a gasser and forge that motor and put a turbo on it or get a diesel.
Regardless either truck will end up having around 800hp+ and I know right off hand that the gasser is cheaper to build. Heck for the price of Stage 2 heads, rods, and pistons sitting in my living room floor I can get a Iron 408 Longblock from HKE for about $300 cheaper. lol
Things I will be searching for and reading about is reliability of such truck, price to fix things if something goes wrong or breaks, type of mileage in town and highway of a truck of this nature, how the trans holds up, 4 speed or 6 speed trans, etc.
Thanks for your time and lookin forward to gain knowledge.
Little about my current truck. Its a 2007 GMC Sierra 2500hd 4x4 LBZ Duramax. SLT with heated leather.

Hey Tony! Ive seen you around DF & DD.
Well I want to have that bad *** truck with enough power to beat fast cars. I dont actually tow anything so thats why its a toss up between gas and diesel. The most I may tow is 2 jet skis whenever I get them. If I go diesel I would want a build like Dustin's (sickdiesel). Gas, prolly a forged/stroker set up with some kind of turbo.

How many miles per year do you drive? Gas is MUCH cheaper to build... If you just want a fast truck I'd say go gas. Diesel is FUN, but EXPENSIVE.
Dustin's setup is sick, but $$$$. I bet you are looking at a minimum of $30k to reach that point excluding buying the LMM. He gets some pricing that we won't see.
