Another new guy. Looks like I found a great site. After reading several exhaust threads. I think I have decided on a muffler, I think I'll try the Flo-Pro part # 2504.
Here are some picks of my 2006 Silverado, 4 X 4, Vortec Max.

So far I have added a Bedrug, and Jack Rabbit bed cover, had to have a place for my tools.

Now to do the exhaust, and PCM.

Looks like I have to decide on on Wait4me, or Nelson to do my PCM.
Is it difficult to learn how to tune a PCM yourself ?

Welcome to the site.I would say go with a Nelson tune myself.
On tuning it yourself...you gotta purcahse the software etc and its not wayway hard if you get hptuners because you can start out with a basic tune...but it does take some time to get decent with it all.If you did do that though i'm sure alot of people could help you along the way.

Welcome to the site man, it looks like you've done your research. As for custom tuning, there are others out there but Wait4Me and Nelson are the only sponsors. And yeah, you can do your own tuning but it takes some time to learn. If your interested in that, HPTuners and EFILive are what most use around here.

Oh, and nice truck you have there! You'll be addicted soon, just be ready to dish out the $$$.

Thanks for the welcome. I try to pay attention to details, I plan on making this truck real nice.
As far as being addicted to Chevy trucks soon, that happened 30 years ago.
In 1976 when I bought this 1965 Chevy. This truck ended up with a 327, hooker headers,650 holley, muncie 4 speed.

Then I got this 1962 Chevy. It got a 350 horse 350, turbo 350.

Then this 1991, it stayed all orginal except exhaust.

The first one (1965 327) had close to 200,000 when I sold it, the second one (1962 350) the odometer quit working after it turned 0ver 300,000, and I drove it for 5 more years after that.
The 3rd one (1991 454) had 242,000 and running strong when I sold it.
I'm sold on Chevys with a little maintanence and attention to detail, you get a lot of use out of them.

welcome... good to see that you made good use out of the search option
I currently have a custom tune but am in the midst of researching and trying to learn how to tune on my own. I'm pretty sure I'll be going with HPT, but not certain. The current favorites for mufflers has recently been Magnaflow and the Hooker Aerochamber... just another suggestion.
those old Chevy pick-ups are awesome I like your taste in trucks
