I have a 05 crew cab. The 5.3 finally died. I have asked what motor u all think I should get. Well I'm going to go with Thompson's 6.0. Now the hard part what one. I use this for towing a car. Its all so my DD. I don't want to go over $3800. Need a few more parts to get it on the road. Like headers starter tunning an so on. Thanks for all your help

 

$3,800 is not much money to add a new long block, headers, and tuning. Assuming you go with ebay LTs and Y pipe, mail order tune you're most likely looking at about $3k left over for the engine.
