Definitely the Tune. An exhaust and intake will help on these trucks more than on most of the older styles. These trucks are just so detuned from the factory. I would stay away from the K&N CAI, I hated the fitment. They are all about the same, and all are going to net about the same gains, I just ported and modded out my stock airbox, went with a True-Flow Drop-In Filter and got the Air-Aid MIT (modular intake tube) and it helped a bunch. The stock intake tube is a series of restrictive baffles. I also went with a ported Shaner TB and the throttle response is MUCH better, even with the lil ole 4.8.

Also might want to look at what gearing you have. Just by looking at the truck I'd say its a good possibility that yours came with 3.23's. With the torque lacking 4.8 and slow TB and take off speed, those 3.23's are killers. Mine has 3.73's and still leaves much to be desired outta the hole.

+1 for tune, intake and exhaust. I did a bit of research on intakes, and found Volant to have the most satisfied customers and more consistent gains; got it from Tbyrne (site sponsor). But if you have 3.23 gears, you might want to consider 3.73s, and if you have an open diff., you might want to get a lim slip at the same time as the gears.

All the above suggestions + a Yank 2600 stall. The 4.8's really lack the down low grunt and the stall will be the biggest bang for the buck IMO.
