Default LS1tech member, just bought L92 truck

Hey all, I wandered over here from tech last week when I was getting ready to buy my truck, and now I'm here to stay. I bought a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado 4x4 6.2 Max Trailer Pack crew yesterday, and I will be picking it up from the dealer in Phoenix on Monday after they finish preparing it to my specs. I will be sure to post up pics as soon as I have them

Proper way would be to not get on it too much while in the break in process and to keep the oil that the factory puts in it until the vehicle says to change oil. The factory oil isnt a full synthetic oil it has certain things in it to help wear in all the bearings and seals properly. After the first oil change you can swap over to a full synthetic oil of your choice and in the intervals you want. Doing this would let everything in the motor wear correctly letting your motor perform and last longer.

That was my basic plan. I have a 150+ mile drive from the dealer after I get it, I plan on varying my speed constantly in order to avoid lugging the engine. A week after I pick it up, I have a 300-mile trip home (I'm out of town on business) during which I plan to do the same thing. I want to get it all settled in within a week and a half, because she'll be making trips out into the desert beginning around Feb 25th or so
