Looking to bulletproof 2018 5.3 & dropping a supercharger.
Looking to setting up my 2018 5.3 with a supercharger at a low boost. Looking for up to 650hp with the right setup prior dropping the supercharger in. What some of you guys did prior to doing that work?? The truck is my daily driver and I’m and looking to bulletproof it so there won’t be too much stress on the engine. Any help would be appreciated. I’m in the NY/NJ tri state area and if you guys work with certain shops, I like some direction. Thank you for any help. It’s right now running a K&N intake and a Carven dump style exhaust. It’s on a 4” Readylift SST with 35” Nittos.
Welcome aboard! 650 NA? 450 NA is a tall order for a street 5.3. 650 is possible on boost though. Reality is a bitch lol. Search for a while and everyone can help you with specifics.

650 NA is not going to happen, how about 650 with single or really twin turbo's with a spec'd cam, head studs, springs, etc.
truck comes stock with 285/305 rated @ the crank your looking to more then double it at the wheels and daily drive it? seriously?
just to give you an idea, my 01 z06 5.7 i did h/c/i full bolt'on and tune made 475hp / 415tq to the wheels and it impressed a few guys. they put down 340ish hp stock
you can make that with a power adder but no way i see it happening staying NA bro
I daily my rc, it's my work truck, lol. You will need at least 10#'s of boost to hit 650 rwhp, I'm running 14#'s and I'm mid to low 600rwhp, no way you will get to 650 NA. FYI, when you make power you stress a motor no way around it, so throw that easy on it stuff out the window...

I didn't realize you DD your RCSB either. I've been all over your thread its one of my favorite builds. Just another reason the OP should listen to your advice.
I've put 15k on it in a year. I love to DD it, I built it especially for its daily duty. Hell, I still tow boats weekly with it. Thanks guys it's been fun!
As everyone has said, you’ll need boost or go to a LSX block with a lot more cubes.
You'll need a driveshaft. 650 NA or boosted will break it.
Probably a triple-disc converter.
You'll need fuel pump/injectors/FPCM.
You'll need about $10k in the bank for when you break it.
And you’ll break it, it’s not so much how but when.
Methanol is optional but spending $6-800 on a quality injection kit will save you from spending $6-7k later.
Tune. You need a good tune to make it live.
have to agree with this, i had upgraded my zo6 and it still let go on me! once all said and done the new engine & tuned is about $8k that a few friends and me doing all the labor
