Default Kinda new from Dallas

wats up, im john i havent used this forum yet. i signed up but never did anything. well i drive a 4.3L 2002 chevy silverado ext cab. its not the fastest thing. i have just done things for the appearence. like the line of fire brake light. a coga pa system. a cb radio, led underglow and led interior lights, a big cattle guard (just incase of some road rage) new head lights. im looking to maybe make the 4.3 faster cause my dad said no to getting a new engine. i also want to get a system in it. new head unit 2 10's and a big amp and new speakers. but ya, if you know how to make a 4.3 faster tell me.

Hey John, welcome to PT.net

If you want to get your truck faster you might start by dropping all the excess weight you can like the cattle guard and whatever else you can.
A nitrous oxide system is a fairly easy way to go faster.

aluminum wheels instead of steel (alot lighter);
cold air intake system;
tornado ki-85;
flowmaster 70 (most v6s sound horrible with a perf muffler but flow 70 is great);
remove mass airflow sensor screen (just stick a knife and yank it out)
corvette servo for tranny;

have fun....

DO NOT remove the MAF screen-it's yours but you've been advised, it wont help and probably will hurt.

Wheels, yes
Flowmaster, whocares
Servo, good but doesn't make you faster
Tornado, waste of money

im leaning towards a 5 inch lift, exaughst, preformance tune, and new rims(aluminum). maybe a new intake. i kinda want a big truck, i dont like to sit low, i like to know i could take out the guy next to me if i got in a wreck with it. tell me wat yalls views are on lifts, where to get good ones for 2wd's, wat kind to get, and so on. thx

If you are wanting to try and make your truck faster, doing a lift and bigger tires is the worst thing to do for a ECSB V-6 powered truck. There is nothing that you can do to that thing make it faster if you have all of that added weight. I would advise you to get a custom tune, exhaust, CAI, ported throttle body, servos, pulleys, e-fans, etc. I would either go big or go faster---you can't do both with a V-6. There are some companies (Super Lift, Pro Comp, etc) that make 2WD lifts. I just wouldn't do it.
