Default I need support!!

I'm new to the forum. I joined to gain support in my efforts to turn my truck into a demon. None of my friends really understand that dropping hard earned cash on your truck is better than going to the stupid theaters every week. The info on the forum is great. Please bear with my postings as I'm trying to figure this out.

I drive a 99 GMC sierra with a 5.3L. AEM intake, 3inch exhaust into a single chamber with a drop off. 2" 4" Mcgaughys drop.

This summer plans, built 6.0L with forged internals, ported polished heads, ready for NOS or FI.

Welcome to the site, sounds like you plan on having a solid motor to build on!
Any ideas if you're going FI or N20? Or both? which FI route are you taking?

My truck keeps breaking trannies, everyone kept telling me to just sell it....HELL NO!!! Breaking stuff is just an excuse to come back stronger. Most people don't look at it like that though

None of my family or friends (except one) can relate....so I understand...

Thanks for being there guys. I have a local guy I trust who will build the motor. I wanted to go turbo with my 5.3L but thought about my 138k miles...
The only good way to go about it was to start fresh with something that would handle all that I can throw at it. Hence, 6.0L . Because of costs, I will build the engine and see how it feels first. With cam, porting& polishing, pistons, valvetrain, injectors, and a good tune, my builder said not to be supprised if I get into the 450hp area in the engine alone. Thats a bunch of power to me because I think my year 5.3L pushes out like 230hp?..He told me to throw a 100 shot of wet NOS in it untill the funding for my turbo comes. It wont be cheap. I could buy a new stock 6.0L for almost half the price. Thats why I have to drop it in myself NOW THAT is when I'm gonna put on that jock strap!

450hp will be a healthy number... what cam do you plan on running? will you be using stock 6.0l heads and P&P them?

Yup. We're tying to make this as powerful as possible while still passing smog. Will use stock 6.0L heads with diff. valve train and P&P. I'll tell ya the cam # when I find out today.
