Default Hey there

Hey everyone,
I've come across this site a few times now and figured I'd make an account! I have a 2014 Sierra 1500 Denali with the 6.2. Bought it stock back in 2016 and built her to what she is today with the help of my friends and old co-workers. It has a Cognito 10-12" Lift, 22x14 Specialty Forged SF010's, 375/45/R22 Nitto Trail Grapplers, P1SC Procharger, TSP 223/227 cam, pushrods, valve springs, retainers/ DOD delete with ARP head bolts, ls7 lifters, head gaskets and long tubes. It's been a great truck with lots of memories and would like to keep her around for a while. Future plans for the truck contain traction bars, lt4 injectors and fuel pump, possibly a converter (probably should've done it while doing the cam/ dod delete but oh well), smaller pulley, built trans along with some do-dads for the lift such as coilovers, Deaver leaf packs, Kryptonite hubs, regear, C7 brake conversion and some bigger wheels/tires. All of this would come way later down the road of course as this is not my daily driver, a gas hog, and I travel for work a lot. I do have some questions/issues I'd like to iron out but I will save that for another thread. I look forward to talking with ya'll along with sharing/gathering insight and information regarding these new direct injected trucks. The saying goes 'ya learn something new every day!' Thanks for reading!

Griff

Here are some of the most recent pics I have of it. Kinda neat I can add photos straight from my phone on this forum. Some other forums I’ve been on I always had to downsize the pics, email them then upload them from my computer thru like photobucket. I have no idea why they look blurry but here she is!

I hope you did all the engine work before you lifted it! I would hate to be hung over the front of that thing.

Hahah nope everything was done after the fact. It can be a pain in some areas but helpful in others. Normally what my friends and I do when we work on it is sit on the cover above the radiator or stand on the tire to work on it. I was pulling the number 8 spark plug yesterday and was actually able to sit underneath the truck to get it instead of from the top lol.

Man my truck is only half the lift of yours and it is a BITCH to work on in the engine bay!

I ended up getting a 3' long 18" tall step and it has been a life saver.

I tell ya what man, I have amp power steps. Literally the BEST investment for any bigger, lifted truck. I had them on my ‘07 Denali and had to have them on this one. Shoot I’ll probably have them on my next truck too haha. They look good, especially tucked underneath the rockers. They’re pretty durable too unless you take them in mud or going offroad but it’s well worth it if you don’t partake in those activities. Price is kinda ridiculous too but it’s like once you’ve had them, you gotta have them.

As far as the working in the engine bay is concerned, it’s not as bad as it’s made out to be. With the procharger in there it opened up the engine bay quite a bit. The stock intake and air box takes up a lot of space but with it gone there’s a lot more wiggle room to work while literally sitting almost on top of the motor. Just don’t work on it while it’s hot!! Lol

I have the power steps too. Definitely a damn good investment.

I have plans to a long travel kit on this thing and it will end up bringing the ride height down to around a 3" lift from the 6".... hopefully fit in the garage then too. May ditch the steps at that point, but the convenience is hard to beat lol.

Nice looking truck...
my crippled one legged *** could never get up inside without a step ladder.
I probably could sit and ride on the rearend housing though

A long travel kit would be so dope!!! I’ve always wanted to install one. I did a ‘mid travel’ kit on an explorer I had when I was in high school and I loved it. I hated I got rid of it but without selling it I wouldn’t have what I have today so I guess I made a sacrifice. The truck still floats around my town to this day and have thought about asking the guy who owns it now if I could buy it back lol. Either way, if you end up going through with it I’d love to see pics. Hell I’d like to see pics of it now if you’d like to post them!

Cheers!
