Hello from Colorado

Hello all, I have a 03 chevy Avalanche Z71. LOVE IT. but I want some go. I have the 5.3 (in case my name didn't give it away) K&N cool air intake, and a cat-back duel exhaust. It does well, but a tear comes to my eye when I drive from VA or TN back home and every mile that passes my HP drops because of the altitutude. So I have had a supercharger on a old Toy Tacoma, and understand the parisitic drain, but on the plus side it makes some boost at idle...better for take off torque when towing. But I really like the way a turbo works once you are rolling. I have looked at several options for superchargers, but what I cant find are turbo kits with all of the fixins, with the real world numbers. I am also wondering how exactly a intercooler works, and would it be good to have it on the turbo. I know that once set boost is boost, however doesnt the amount of oxygen (altitude mainly) have a large degree still on the performance on a truck? Also once tuned for any altititude, should you re-tune it if on a long road trip to different elevations? Lots of questions huh...Thanks in advance
