What's up guys and gals? Though I am new to this site and new to performance mods on Gen 3 engines, I am not a newbie when it comes to GM vehicles. I have been a GM tech for 18years. I just never followed the performance side and numbers. I have a 2001 Silverado with the 5.3 and found this site looking for some ideas to wake this thing up. I will post in some other forums but am looking for some kind of package with maybe a cam, lifters, springs, heads, programmer, etc. Something I can bolt together that will work together. Any help appreciated. I am not against supercharging or turbo, I'm open to ideas.

 

If you are planning for boost in the future, this is my recommendation:

Custom Cold Air Intake
Long tube headers
Good true duals and no cats (unless your emissions prevents this)
Build the tranny (i.e. bigger torque converter, vette servo, shift kit, etc.)
4.10 gears
Thunder Racing or Comp 224/224 cam is a good boost cam and you can easily get all accessories.
Ported Throttle body
Ported and Polished heads
Ported intake manifold

And then their is always the aesthetic mods such as wheels, suspension, hoods, window tint, tonneau covers, roll pans, front fascias, grilles, etc.

 

welcome, there's definitely some recommendations here for more power! I'd say start with the typical bolt-ons for now and then decide how you wan't to go... s/c, turbo, N/A or N/A plus an occasional spray???
