im in Lords Valley, pa like 4 hours NNW from DE... its an 02 Z71 ext cab 5.3L... plans are to make it faster(not sure how im going to do it yet, seems like it makes alot of sense to mod the 5.3 since if i pull it its only worth about 200$ so im wondering if i can get 400hp out of it without making it unbearable as a daily driver or spending as much as it would cost to get a 6.0L) also want to make all the lights come on when im in HIGH beam mode
... and id like to fix the annoying knocking in the steering shaft i JUST replaced the intermediate shaft with a brand new one and its making a higher (closer to the wheel) knocking now ughhh!!!!
oh yeah i spent abojut an hour the other night reading threads here
ill get some pics when im home im on the work computer now lol

The shackle flip takes the rear leaf spring hanger and turns it into a compression style from a tension style. The end result is 4" of lift. I was able to ditch the 4" block that came with my Fabtech lift, so less worries about axle wrap.
I have a Precision Industries 10.5" Single Disc 3600 that recently died, lol. I may have it rebuilt and tightened up a little. Spinning in 4WD on the track has to be hard on parts...
4.56's on the highway with 37's... I wish I had deeper(numerically higher) gears. They're great cruising gears if you running large tires like me. At 70 mph i think I turning right at 2000 rpm. 4.56's pair up better with 33/35's.

dam 4.56 is not far from my 3.73s with 265/75/16s... 2500 @ 79(i dont do 70)
big gain in accelleration from the gears or did you do it for offroading?
the shackle thing sounds like a real good idea... how do i lift the front about 6"(cheap as possible) to match the rear and be rid of that annoying rake?
13.30 in 4wd huh? i guess she wont hook up in 2wd? if you baked a 3600 rpm converter from prescision i def dont wanna be drag racing lol i have a firebird thats a race car i want my truck to be fun on the road(which for me means fast), capable off the road and look/sound badass.
i have an easy question, i am the second owner of my truck i got it with 65k on it from North Carolina... it did not come with rear inner fender gaurds (black plastic things that keep the dirt out) is that factory or did someone remove them?

There was a real nice gain in acceleration from the gears. I did them for multiple reasons. Better on and offroad performance and less stress on the transmission.
Your only option for lifting the truck over 3" in the front is a full suspension kit, costing about $1000 and up.
On the street, in 2wd, the truck won't hook at any speed below 40mph. It even has big traction problems in 4wd with the 3600. The 13.30 run was me launching easy to prevent spinning. The truck was just as much fun, and maybe quicker on the street(due to traction), with the 3000 stall it had. It was very streetable and could haul some loads. Best time with that verter was 13.78.
I don't think these trucks ever came with rear inner fender guards. I think there is a company that sells them though...
