What a great site to learn from all the postings. Running a supercharged 5.3 JG Tahoe. Lots of fun and looking for ideas to crank it up. The supercharger came without the intercooler Good idea??? or not

Default Just getin started

Currently looking to return the tahoe back to original JGibbs. No cooler and parts missing. I would be interested in talking about bolt ons. Possible cam and heads. Also what thermostat to run my local tuner says the computer in set up for the 190 and not to run a cooler stat. He runs funny cars on the circuit. Also no headers.

Welcome to the site, I believe most people are running a 160* T Stat and having their trucks tuned for it.

If you haven't had a custom tune for it, that would be my first idea (check out Wheatley, Blackbear and Nelson links on the right), long tubes are always great with superchargers (best bang for the buck is LPP headers, google them). See where those get you, but they are needed supporting mods for anything you have planned in the future. Also get a big trans cooler, vette servos and maybe a shift kit because the transmission won't like all of that extra power.

Welcome over! Read up in our Forced Induction section, lots of guys with MP112 superchargers in here.

Had a guy who tunes a funny car and more work over my PCM due to some preignition issues I was having. Changed the knock sensors also. The Joe Gibbs package has alot of tricks built in except I don't know what those are. The tuners you suggested sounds like a place to start. Do you need a new tune if you install long tubes. Already have the Corsair Stainless 3" cat back. Ground force lowered with the baer brake package.

Thanks for the tips

It's rare that you'd need a tune after just headers, in some cases the O2 sensors will not be in a good location, in which case you will need to tune, but that would be obvious cause you'll get a SES light.

Welcome from Ontario too.

Welcome to the Forum from Saskatchewan. I have been running a few mods on a 5.3 chevy for a year now and it is addicting to say the least. Good info around here for sure.
