Default College kid with dreams of horsepower

Hi, i have a 2003 suburban 1500 with a 5.3. ive done some basic work on it. whole new exhaust system and K&N intake and bully dog GT tuner. i plan to pur some more money into it, i want to replace the cam, heads and rest of the valve train. i also want to supercharge it eventually. my first order of business though is to get my stock transmission up to spec for that kind of power. will a shift kit do the trick alone? or would i need to put more into it? any help or ideas on my plan would be greatly appreciated.
thanks.

Welcome....many people will say use the search function, but some basics to get you started....
Get a mail order tune and toss out the bully dog. It will be better in the long run and can pick up a few hp for now. Since you are planning power adder, I would recommend a built trans or a cheaper way is the 4l80 trans swap. (tons of info on that subject here)
Lastly a cam and heads spec'd to your setup would help. If you are going to go with a certain type of blower then choose the cam, springs and heads accordingly. As far as that subject goes, research is the only thing you can do!

good luck and post up some pics
