Hello every one I have a 2000 Silverado step side , I want to swap the 5.3 & the L60 trany out. Was told I could go to a LS1 up to a LS6 , but would want to stay in the 2000 to 2004 year of that motor, also going to a L80 trany.
Will the wiring & the computer work on this swap.

your pcm would have to be flashed, some wires/connectors will be different

 

your computer and wiring will be just fine. re-use your truck intake manifold/injectors and re-use the 5.3 accessories your currently running. the motor will run ok on your current tune but your best bet is to get a new custom tune for the added cubes. my truck went from 13.88 to 13.26 with the motor swap being the only change. the swap is a direct swap from the 5.3 to ls1. everything will bolt up the same exact way if you re-use the truck intake and accessories. use the truck motor mounts too.

 

If he uses the harness in the truck, all the connectors will work.
