That is my old exhaust setup EXACTLY. I loved it except when you let off you get the redneck burbble in the exhaust that I hated and when cruising at about 70ish it had a little drone. Other then that WOT was pure evil and it sounds like yours is just a louder version(went corsa when I put the 418 in)

Im interested to see what this truck really puts up on a 1/4 track. Any guess as to when you will hit one up?

It won't see a 1/4 track till next spring probably, after the Victor Jr. and TB, but it may see the local 1000 ft track before long, I think they are open till the 25th.

Well when he got this motor, this was going to be a budget 6.0l build. But, it needed a piston, rod, and the cam bearings pulled out with the cam, it definetly had oiling problems so it the turned to a 408 build. This is a 99 lq4 and these were the heads on the motor and he just didn't have the funds then and we had to settle on those. They are iron so I didn't want to run the risk of milling them and not being able to run much timing so we left them alone. Then the cam selection was based on the stock heads and stock intake/tb. As for 317's, I know it would like them better but we wanna see how much the Victor and TB does for it first, cause if it can't breathe thru the intake, then it doesn't matter what heads are under it. Maybe Darts on down the road?, who knows, I do know ET drags are probably in the near future as is the intake and tb. My hands are sore from writing this book now.

I wouldnt go with the DARTs, mine pooled alot of oil at the back. Enough oil pooled up to cover the rear two valve stems and caused my oil burning problem(I think so far anyway). My cylinder walls are beautiful so that leads me to believe the heads were the problem. Patriot has a deal on assembled and ported 243s for under a grand right now, pretty good deal and they are 227cc intake runners.

On Motor only before the bigger stall, only 24* timing and flowmaster exhaust it ran a 7.8x 1/8 mile. He doesn't have the spray anymore, got rid of it for a stouter NA setup, hopefully around low 11's in the 1/4.
