Stock hemi vs Stock 5.3

well if i went and got a standard cab one , the value should be less then my trucks . so im gonna buy a cheaper truck and oay the same > u get what im saying . and anything wrong with the 06's what options should i get for sure like a 3.90 locker and such

I haven't even seen the 06 1500's at the dealerships yet...only the 2500/3500. And I personally dont like the look of the 06's. I would try to catch an 05 if they still have them. The rams with the stock 20's come with 3.92's from the factory, but MOST of the rams with 17's have 3.55's.

so if it has 20's its got that gear . well id rather find one on 17's and that gear i dont like there twentys for the price they charge u lol . and id rather have the 17's for truck use . anyways whats this 5,000 miles ur talking about . my chevy has what maybe 6800 on it now i think and boy it just keeps feelin stronger and stronger , im bringing it back to the track end of this month or early next month see if i can hit a 15.5 with just intake and exahust on a extended cab truck .

I think it has to do with the oil thats in the truck when you buy it new...the dealership uses a real thick oil during the break in period, and I think that takes away some of the initial power. I bought my truck used with 7,000 miles, and it has run strong since day 1, but I test drove many new hemi's, and none of them felt as strong as mine with 7,000 miles on it. You can get them with 17's and 3.92's, but you will probably have to ask the dealership to do that for you...and the way they are trying to sell trucks these days, they will probably do the upgrade for you for free. Just tell them you wont buy the truck unless it has 3.92's.

I do admit that the dodge trucks look a lot better than both the chevy's and fords now. I'm not a big fan of the 03+ chevy front ends, and the new fords are just nasty. But there's 2 reasons i didn't buy a hemi. 1. gas mileage, the most i've heard someone get is 15 in city and that's being very light on the peddle. 2. Lack of being able to get one with a manual tranny. I have to have a clutch in everything i own, it's much funner. And them reasons r the reasons i got the truck i have now. In the near future it will see 25mpg (currently low to mid 23's) and it has the 5-speed, which is a blast to have, and after seeing how many ppl have problems with the auto's, i'm glad i got the 5-speed, not near the maintenence

very true , when the warrenty wont cover my tranny and im stuck paying for it , im sticking a t-56 in it like that one guy did on here . and thats if i still have it , i cant decicde right now i need to just think this all out nothings gonna change right now u kno

That kind of talk isn't needed. If you have a problem with dodge, then go find one and race him, but dont go on every internet website talking **** about a truck you no nothing about. If you are ever in Texas, then drop me a line, and I will run you. I know that I will never be the fastest truck, but I am very happy with what I drive, and wouldn't have it any other way. I am jealous of the ford/chevy guys though because of their available aftermarket...I cant even imagine what the hemi would do if we had half the parts available that you guys have...yet we still manage to spank some *** every night at the track in our SLOW hemis.
