i really thought those 3:73s would have yanked me...i was a lil nervous...if my 3:42s do that why change to 4:10s???

 

You have headers which is what gave you the win.

Now, if you had 4.10s the outcome may have been worse for you depending on what RPM you went from. If you are going above the 3-2 downshift MPH, you wont pull very hard in 3rd gear at that low rpm.

faster as in the 1/4 mile not always faster in a roll race.
i know someone that was running 12.9s in an 05 ecsb bolt on 6.0 w 4:10s who couldnt pass an 04 5.3 with stock stall/3:42s that went 14.7 the same night from a 50 roll

 

My truck has 4.11s and runs similar times and I'd stomp all over a 5.3/3.42 truck from 50....

 

Your truck can stomp on anything out there.

 

your also cammed a TSP228? thats huge for a 5.3
