THATS a suspension setup!!
Question- it seems that the 4 link (is it a 4 link?) is actually floating around the axle?? allowing it to move on its own axis, is that what the upper spring and shock are for? just wondering.

yes it floats, im actually surprised you caught on to that. i was wondering if someone would. were it mounts the rear end is called a floating bird cage, the left side is 4 link and the right side is a z link, it has what we call a jbar for a panhard bar, it comes from the left side of the frame to a pinion mount on frame. also has a 3rd link bar with a shock and spring. these set ups are quite complex, if it aint right its hard to drive if its set up right you hardly have to let off..the way this set up works is that it drives the rear end up under the car and drives the rear end into the ground..how else can you get 750hp to hook 8in tires on clay
