155 mph winds wouldn't be bad on the nose. Gusting would be touchy. It's the crosswind that gets ya. Those are some very lucky passengers.

Maybe too far to the nearest AP and not enough fuel?
I saw this earlier today, and yeah I hope so. If he had enough fuel to go to another airport with less wind he needs his license pulled.

I Guarantee they had to clean several seat cushions.
Mine would have been missing a piece right in the middle.

i'm sure if there was any option to avoid that air traffic control would have offered that option. that was one hell of a pilot with cajoneys like boulders!

I seen a video from an Air Canada flight that lost all Electronics mid flight to Europe. They managed to coast for like an hour with no engines. They ended up having to land at an AF base and didn't have any lights. Lost its wheels on impact and the pilot STILL kept it right in the center of the runway.
I'll see if i can find info on it.
