Pics of my truck

I think if I do do some kind of big(bigger than 190hp) power combo I would be leaning towards the LS1 since I love the sound of a V8 over the sound of a V6, turbo or not. I still have no idea what I will do if anything. Like I said I will need another veichle before I do anything.
Maybe when I make a little bit more money.
Doesnt the 89s have the 700R4? I have the 4L60E. I know a lot of the guys on Tech have the same transmission in moded LS1s. I would think it would be able to handle 300 whp. But I dont know much about transmissions, so maybe Im way off.

Yes, the 89 has the 700r4/4l60. If you eventually do a swap just remember that if you stay with a stock ls1 your tranny should hold, but if you decide to go ls1 and turbo's you'll want to do some tranny work because it will eventually go out.
But when and if you start mod'n no matter what you do its gonna be crazy fast and a fun ride.
If you check this forum https://www.performancetrucks.net/fo...2&page=1&pp=10 you'll get a lil more information on how strong the tranny's really are.
