Well it was a year last June since I popped my 6 liter. I completely walked away from the truck for 9 months. Everytime I looked at it it pissed me off. I'm just about to get her back on the road. I was watching the Carnage vid Dewy put together and decided to finally share the pictures of my epic fail.

Broke the timing chain near as I can tell. Nothing was salvaged, cam even got ruined.

Another 6 liter with .030" over forged slugs, TBSS intake, and a GOOD timing chain. Had my heads worked over by AFD with Ferrera valves. Same cam spec as before with a 1.5 degree of advance ground in.

My pics looked very similar. I went with forged pistons too. If you engine would have had forged pistons to begin with, none of the other stuff would have been damaged. Good luck with the new build.

I was real happy with the way it ran before. It ran for a year and a half before it went. I was just driving to work one morning, pulled out on the highway and gave it punch to get out of the way of traffic. It broke the tires loose ran up too 6600, bounced of the rev limiter twice and popped. New motor's in the truck, all the heavy line work is done. I just need to get it buttoned up.

Yes, I was. It was a brand new short block and I thought being an LQ4 it would be heavy duty enough. Guess I was wrong. I bought an LS2 chain and even it looked to light. So I got an race set from my valve train guy.
