it pulls hard but would hitting 5th gear right before the end of the 1/4 affect me like slow me down?

 

yep! 5th gear isnt a "pulling gear" 4th is the gear that you really need to be crossing the traps in...maybe a 4:30 gear or a "taller tire" would work better for you. how tall were the tires you ran on?

 

exactly what i was thinking..i was on a 28' hoosier slick,,i roll on 18' 255/55 18s 29' tall...ill be getting some 24's soon which should be 31'tall.......
i may go down to 4.10s or even 3.90s.or run a.taller slick like u mentioned..ide hate to swap the ring/pinion and it slows it down lol
