Damn, being stupid in a smart zone, but like Trev says he got the ole suiy by cop trick... also not defending the badguy, he got what was coming, but didn't look like he tried to ram the cop in the beg..

Thats wild! All they tried to do was chase and crash into the monty before the cop lit the guy up. I think that was way excessive! they didn't try to PIT maneuver, flatten his tires, or use several cruisers to block him in. In some area's there are laws against police chasing at high speeds or through residential area's. If you stop chasing and let the guy get out of site there is a 99% chance that he'll ditch the car leaving finger prints, DNA or in this case a witness!! Than you can catch up with him when he's sleeping at home!

That cop was just trigger happy!

I would have done the same thing. Ask anyone else whose been to Iraq for example or combat veterans, you do what you have to do to survive. Death will change your priorities really quick, whats fair or right from wrong goes out the window. That guy could have floored the gas and been @ 60+ mph in seconds...the cop on the hood of the car would have been good as dead, or maybe handicapped for life. The cops life was endangered, and plenty of innocent civilians on the roads lives were too thru the chase. Although I have no clue why he was on the hood in the first place.

SOB got what he deserved IMO.

although i did notice that the cops were driving a good deal slower than i would have been if i had been in high-speed pursuit of someone, especially in a car pretty equal to mine in performance, crown vic vs. monte carlo, possibly ss.
