Last time I was at the range there was a guy with a beautiful Barret .50 semi ......100 yards is way too close for them things, lol

 

need to shoot them things bout a mile or two..

 

what the hell happened, i've fired one of those and it kicks less than a .30-06 but god damn you can take out a 4x4 post with one round

 

i think he shot a metal target and a piece of it flew back and hit him

 

Ya they dont kick like most think, My 300WSM kicks allot more then my buddies 50 BMG. ( Of course my 300 is light as hell and doesnt have a mussle break...)

 

a couple of inches either way and he wouldnt be happy

 

That sucks. How close was the target ya'll think?

 

Probably around 100yds. It took almost 2 full seconds between firing and hitting him and you figure the bullet is originally traveling about 800 fps, but dramatically slows down after it ricocheted.

 

That guy got lucky.

That a piece of sh#t 50 cal if the bullet is only traveling 800ft./sec@ 100yards. The 50 cal handgun (Desert Eagle) could probably do that @100yards. Should be around 2500ft/sec @100yards.

Just the raw power, accuracy, and damage that gun can do at LONG range is amazing. Yall see the shockwave when he shot?
