Hmm, sounds like your truck never down shifted.

I noticed it sounded like it was bogging down when you took off as well.

What does that Dmax run in the 1/4th or 1/8th if you happen to know?

Sounds like you roll raced the Dmax in a dead spot with the stock converter on your setup. You do still have a stock converter don't you? I bet it would have been a better run for you if you guys started the race at a different speed. If you had a higher stalling converter + maybe a retune I bet the outcome would be a lot different also. Normally with the 212/218 cam you can get away with the stock converter, but in your case I think your truck would run quite a bit better with a higher stalling converter.

We went from a 25 and also a 30 roll, and both races ended pretty much the same. From a 30 I put half a truck on him until his turbo spooled, then he was gone. I'm still on the stock converter, would probably make a huge difference to pop a 22-2500 in there, I just hate to kill my gas milage around town right now. Not sure just what his times would be, he says he's never run it at the track before.

With a tame 278mm converter, your MPG would not suffer as much as you would think. Probably 1-2MPG loss around town at most on a good tune with a 278mm 3000-3200 and on the freeway/interstate you probably wouldn't notice any loss at all. As long as you didn't floor it all the time and kept your foot out of it that's about all the loss you will see.

I may have to make that my next purchase then. Only problem is I know as soon as the truck gets faster, my foot gets heavier
