Default S-10 Grill Swap

quick ???, friend of mine was asking me if he could swap a '98+ S-10 grill onto his '97 S-10. Is this possible without having to replace the whole front end(fenders/grill/bumper/hood)?

He may have to replace the bumper cover and the grill obviously. But the fenders and hood will not need to change. I can say as to whether or not the actual mounting locations (where the clips that hold the grill in) will be identical or not but really overall it's all the same truck, they just updated the front end a little.
