Update: got truck started again two nights ago. Sense the last post i relocated the wide band into the new down pipe, added a o2 sensor in the exhaust manifold, cleaned up and removed all the zip ties we used to get the wires together on each side of frame rails and replaced them with the rubber isolators that are zip screwed into the rails, as well as made a turbo back exhaust to exit out the bed down low where it did with the rear mount before.
Im sure we did alot more but i cant remember rite now. The truck started up quickly after i turned the key but had a very very bad misfire. We tracked that down to a coil pack on drivers side in the back. I had org bought ebay oem style coil packs for $90 new. Now i see why. on startup with the rear mount before 3 were bad from get go and two days ago when i started with the front mount 1 more is bad. Solution was to put stock coils and valve covers that came with this junkyard 5.3 back on the truck. Problem solved. Then i went to bleed brakes only to find out i had a bad proportioning valve in the system so we replaced that and there good to go, with new steel braided lines up front and SSBC calipers in rear. I am thinking about converting to hydro boost to clean up engine bay a little. Has anyone done this, if so is it worth it or is there any real difference? Other then that, thats about up to date so far. Tomorrow im going to patch up a few small pinholes we had in down pipe and exhaust, toping off fluids, changing oil and putting some fresh fuel in her. Sunday we are taking it out for some street tuning so im excited about that. Here this week i plan to do the following..

Make a ABS plastic gauge pod under the radio where the ac controls were for my volt meter, trans temp, and a spot for 2 toggle switches. Then im making a dash cluster out of ABS plastic also with a 3.5in speedo in the center, a 2 1/16 wide band, oil pressure, water temp and boost on each side staggered. I hope to add two green leds for turn signals and a blue led for high beams.

Also ill be putting my cowl hood back on and installing my flush mount aerocatch hood pins. I have a tri-fold bed cover im putting on the bed to. I sell HID kits at my shop so i will prob put a set of 10k in at this time. Im going to prob tint the windows and windsheild in the next few weeks, as well as add my shop name across the top center of my back window, and a list of a few of the major things we do listed down the center with our number and website at bottom center. Really happy we are just down to little bs like this at this point. Of course thats assuming i run into no problems while tuning.

Our local track that is 3 miles from my shop had there final race tonight and is closing down for good after next weekend, so the thing im trying to get it all done for is Crusin weekend in OC MD October 10-13.

My plans im starting to muster up for the next few months are caltrac split mono-leafs with a 2" drop built in and leaf spring sliders, between the two there is about a 3'' drop in the rear which will allow me to get rid of the stupid 3 inch blocks i have in the rear. Im debating on building a motor based off a 6.0 iron block this winter and going with a bigger turbo but that depends on how well it runs while tuning it. if i feel as it will be enough for me for next year also i will just build the low mile 5.3 i have sitting that was in the truck in the start of this current build. By building it i just mean studding it, custom cam, good set of heads ect. No bottom end work. If its not enough im just going to go a little further with it and put my own bent cage in, and a bigger turbo/motor and shoot for 850-900 whp. Im hoping thats not the case though. Also within a few months im going to be installing a alky control kit. I bought a snow performance kit a few months ago new but the guy who i got it from didnt tell me its for a mass air truck and im running in speed density so im going to be selling that on here shortly.

Ill update with pics and maybe a video of tuning this sunday night.

Blah.. so long story short.. went to start the truck with my buddy doing the tuning. It has a bad misfire. I had the junk ebay coils on it and replaced them with oem coils. Still misfiring... Swapped new plug wires and still misfires. Looked into the tune i got by a mail order vendor and it has 76lb injectors plugged in instead of the 60lb injectors i have. He switched that and now it does not sting your eyes when your leaning in the engine bay as it did before but still has a bad miss. Also it wont stay running without your foot on the throttle. While trying to find the misfire for some reason the turbo seal blew on my brand new turbonetics 78mm. Not to happy about that but it doesnt do me any good if i cant get the miss gone. Im thinking with it being so rich from having the wrong injectors in the pcm that it may of fouled the plugs. Im changing plugs tomorrow to see. We disconnected each coil from the harness 1 by 1 at a time and listened for a change in engine sound and 4 out of 8 didnt change the sound. After that we checked that each coil is firing with an extra plug/wire and they all are. Injectors are all firing, fuel pressure is correct, good coils, good wires, no vacuum leaks or exhaust leaks (smoke tested both) so im at a loss if its not the plugs tomorrow. Im hoping the plugs clear it up so i can ship my turbo out and have it rebuilt and tune the damn thing, but this damn misfire is getting me to just about the end of my rope!

Little update: we narrowed it down to a bad PCM or wiring to injectors. All injectors have 12 volts with key on and i have spark and all that good stuff but cyl, 2,5,7,8 do not have fuel going to them. We took thoes injectors and swaped them around and still same 4 cyl dont have fuel going to them. That narrows it down. Also a bit of good news the turbo is not leaking anymore. Im fairly sure it was loading up on oil because the drain has a 90 degree fitting on it just out of the turbo. We made that straight and all is good on that end. Anyone have any ideas for my injector pulsing problem? We are taking a buddies 402 88mm fox swaps computer and flashing it with my tune and putting it in my truck tomorrow to eliminate PCM out of the mix.
