New diff is in and working well. Backlash ended up at .006”. Was able to use the factory two shims for the diff just had to sand the drivers side one to get it to fit in ther (it was super tight before) the truck is allot more fun to drive now. Did one quick heat cycle on it, I’ll do a few more tomorrow. Gear pattern was pretty much perfect.

Got like 800 miles or so on the new rear end. Been trying to break it in along with my Silverados as well although I’ve definitely beat on the s10 a bit more. But far so good it’s smooth and quiet. I should probably change the fluid again soon.

since I put the limited slip in I noticed a really mild wheel hop if I hit it from a roll in first so I’m thinking I need some traction bars for the truck. If any one had any recommendations on a good traction bar for a lowered truck with drop blocks I’d love to hear them.

. I also just switched to a new wheel and tire setup tonight 245/45/17 and 275/40/17. I just asked my tire guy for performance all seasons and they were pretty cheap. Initial drive with the truck it feels allot more responsive and grippy. The old 105/60/16’s had allot of roll in them and would slip when pushed hard.

that being said I think I may lower the truck just slightly like 1” rear and I’d like to throw on some drop spindles so I can raise my coilovers up some more and add some preload. I’d really like this truck to feel happy in the corners.

Dropped the front about an inch. Added some compression dampening to the front shocks and rears as well. Now had zero wheel hop, handles soooooo much better then it did before. Checked alignment after lowering and had 0 tow so left it there. Truck feels like a performance truck now not just an old pickup with a small block. Next thing I think I’ll add will be a custom panhard bar for it. I’d also like to try to shed a little weight off the truck but don’t know what I can take off besides changing to a roll pan which I don’t wanna do because I’ll loose the ability to tow without adding a hidden hitch which would gain any lost weight back.

Needs washed terribly bad lol.

I like the Regan sticker, that’s a classic. Too bad we can’t go back in time and delete Bush though, he sucked!

Bush did suck. Not that I knew **** about that cause I was born in 88.

I’m supposed to be buying a 96 s10 today, 4.3l 5 speed truck, already lowered and looks pretty clean from the pictures but just like that girl on fb you know how that **** goes lol. not that I need more trucks but I guess you can never have too many?

I pulled the trans pan to install a trans go shift kit, .500 boost valve and change my govenor weights/ springs since my tranny wouldn’t shift to overdrive till about 65mph which was driving me nuts. Turns out it already had the shift kit installed (found the tag inside the spring in the tv valve) so I ended up just doing the boost valve and governor change. Tranny feels great now with the boost valve, new fluid and filter and governor change. It’s wet out today but I’ll see how it does over the next few weeks. Side note, pretty sure I’ve picked up a few mpg since I did the cam swap which is really surprising to me but the truck feels great. Plan on running it at Woodburn drag strip this year. I think it will be somewhere in the mid to high 12’s on street tires.

Tranny has been doing great. Actually wot shifts from 2nd to 3rd now from a dig. I plan on running this truck at the dragstrip this year just to get a few runs in and see where it’s at. To me it feels like a mid to high 12 second truck but we will see how the 60’ is.
