im swapping out the engines soon. will the 4l60e fit well in the tranny tunnel? i purchased the motor tranny, ecu and the entire wiring harness all together to ease the install, how much modification does the harness need? i may consider sell or trade to go with an ls1, any info would help guys, thanks

I've thought about doing this myself, but the way the CT emissions program is I don't even wanna play around with the computer or tailpipe emisisons 'till they settle down and get their **** straight. There's been a lot of people that talk about doing 5.3-6.0 swaps, not to mention LSx motors, but no one really has done it that I know of. I'm sorry I can't really give you any useful info on the swap... I've seen one guy who had a couple pics of an LS1 in a colorado but he didn't have any kind of info, in fact a lot of guys on the colorado specific forum were crying photoshop because there were a couple things that did look funny. If I can think of anything to tell you to watch for I'll post back up in here or shoot you a PM. Also, the colorado's come with the 60e tranny so I don't think you'd see any issues with that at all.
When are you planning on doing the swap? Make sure to post back here and let me know what happens.

Yes. The 4l60E is essentially an electronicallly controlled 700R4, which most auto S-trucks were equiped with from the factory.
You'll probably need a new set of exhaust manifolds to clear the steering shaft. What year is this going in? You say 2.2, so I'm guessing it's at least a 94 right?

Well, you're gonna run into the same issues no matter what. Get a conversion manual from JTR. There's tons of usefull info. Also, try looking at S10forum in the V8 section. There is some usefull stuff there, although you may have to wade through some bullshit to find it. And maybe try PM'ing hellbents10. He's got a TT V8 in his 96, so he may be able to answer more questions than I can. Good luck.
