Well after nearly a year's time, a report to the RCMP, a few phone calls to Scott Hughes from Detective Greg Brainard of the Poplar Bluffs, Missouri Cyber Crimes Department, a promise of a criminal warrant, a few missed deadlines, Scott's claim that I had ruined his reputation, the detective's correction that Scott had ruined his own reputation, the shutting down of Scott's paypal address due to the high volume of disputes, and finally a cashier's cheque for $175 dollars delivered to my mailbox yesterday, this **** is done!



Big thank you to everyone who gave me ideas and moral support, and the moderators who looked after this, namely Billy, Cody, Emperor Bill, and Dewey. And if you guys want to unlock Scott's user profile and give him a chance to put in his word, I'm fine with that. In the end, he did the right thing. Let him speak.

 

Nope, decided to leave him where he's at. Sadly, bringing him back will only set an example of our tolerance to poor seller practices. I say sadly because everybody really deserves a second chance when they are down and out. But he isn't everybody, he's a bad seller and can find a new forum to be on if he must be on one at all.

This a perfect example of why we have the rules that we have in the classifieds. Also the steps to follow for getting a resolution (possible) if a deal goes sour. Comment in the member's trader rating, create a feed back page in here, file a complaint with PayPal, and/or your credit car and/or bank. If it gets bad file a police report with your local police department in a timely manner.

Agreed. I surf the classified 5+ times a day. Never had a bad experience, if he needs a forum there are others out there I think Dewey os doing the right thing as well.

Despite the fact that this thread is old as ****, I figured I should put this out there: A few months ago I got a pm from a new user named 1timeuse. It was a heartfelt apology from Mr. Scott Hughes. In it he maintained he sent the cutouts, but felt horrible for the way he handled the situation. He even offered to send me the money if I hadn't received it yet. But that was unnecessary since the Poplar Bluffs PD is better at sending out their mail than Scott was back then, I guess. Doesn't make any difference, since he made his bed, and I'm sure he won't try to get out of it and back here anytime soon, but what's right is right. He manned up, and after all the poison and **** talking in this thread, I'd be wrong not to tell of his efforts to make things right. The kid grew up.
