there is this guy that wants to race me in an otherwise stock lightning with no tune present and says he has a 14 lb pulley on it. now i guess my question is can they handle a 14 lb pulley with no tune??? i know he has an exhaust and he said that is it and his i know a couple of guys that know him and they also say he has no tune with i ask them what is in the truck. so i guess if someone could inform me i would be appreciated

He prolly meant to say he's pushing 14 lbs of boost. Awfully brave to try and run that much w/o a tune. Factory tune, you can get away with running 12, but I think you'd be streachin it with 14. He also won't be putting out that much more in power. How fast is your ride?

8.89 @ 78pmh or mebbe 76 in the 1/8 that was with a 3k converter and since then we have built up the ole tranny a bit and put a 3400 converter in there but im still peg leg so i spin pretty damn bad. i should have a posi and a forged internal ls1 with some 5.3 liter heads coming soon then after all of that is set up a bigger fueld pump and nitrous away

Honestly wasn't giving you a smart a$$ answer.
To answer your question he could run 14 psi on a stock tune. The factory tune is pretty fat and keeps the timing conservative, but he's giving up a fair amount of power by not having a tune done for the extra boost, plus there's always the risk of it not being safe.By the way, I'm a fan of modding pretty much anything and everything, no brand loyalty here!

sorry for you to take it the wrong way thought the :p kinda gave it away but guess not either way same here much love for anything fast dont care what it is but your retort about the fat tune did help quite a bit in the explanation of things as well as someone telling me that he only runs 100+ octane through it no one said that before but i do think that with the stock tune and my ls1 tr224 cam and 5.3 heads going in that things are going to get fun really quick come december or january any predictions on that one i am guessing like a 12.7 or 12.8 motor runs
