Default running lean!

Hey guys, my buddy has a 2001 ford lightning with 4lb underdrive pulley and larger injectors. (don't know what size, but the previous owner assured us they were ample). We have recently been getting a lean code on both bank 1 & 2. Any suggestions? I'm kinda thinking maybe fuel pressure regulator or filter? Fuel pump? I know nothing about fords, so where is the fpr even located? Thanks

lightnings come with 42lb injectors so wonder why previous owner upgraded them if no other mods other than a 4lb pulley. lean codes could be caused by vacum leaks. checked all the hoses and fitting for the air intake and on the plenum for the supercharger. could also be o2 sensors.

found out it was the rear 02s. Is there any way to turn these off, or do I just need to get some new ones?

You have to get a programmer to shut them off. Depending on what's wrong with them, you could still get a code even with them shut off.

Sounds like the MAF is dirty. Vac. leaks on L's usually set a single bank code but this isnt always the case. I always look at the hot wires of the MAF if both banks are lean PO171 and PO174 and if they are dirty I clean them.

Again I would expect the MAF to be the problem BUT...always check all your Vac. and PCV source hoses and lines.

The hot wires on the MAF. They are the two strand wires on the MAF.
