My insurance(Progressive) with a 98 Sonoma, an 02 WS.6, covering me (23 at the time) and my fiance (21) only went up 36 dollars a month when the Lightning was added.

Im paying 215 a month, for me(Now 25), my girl(Now 23), the WS.6 and the Lightning.

Kinda on a different subject but how would long tube headers no cats and a loud moud exhaust sounds like?
Would it be ok to run those mufflers with the supercharger? I don't know if the SC 5.4 needs any back pressure or not?

Loud mouth? Dunno, never heard it. It'd be damn loud, that's for sure.

yeah, I can't spell. But I have heard plenty of stangs with it and I love the sound, I have heard some Bassani exhaust as well and I liked the sound but I didn't think it was loud enough on the Lightning.
And I am calling Thursday about insurance and then I am going to start shopping.

No muffler on a mod motor sounds like smoked ***, IMO.

Javman - Whoever told you that about the rods and RPM is a very smart person. I've tried to convince people that the rods in Gen 2s are snapping, which is a sign of stretch caused by piston speed, not overpressure caused by detonation. Keep the revs down, the motor will live. IMO.

Also IMO, if you're looking for reliability, you need a '01-newer truck. My '00 was a heap. Stayed at the dealership. VERY disappointing. They worked most of the bugs out for '01 - except for that inconvenient plug-launch problem, which took them a few more years.

I wasn't going to get anything older than 2003. I don't want to take out a 60 month loan on anything older than that.

In all likely hood, you won't be able to get anything over a 48 month loan on used stuff, unless you finace thru a dealership. Most banks only go 4 yrs on used auto loans.
