Default boost acuator mod

i did the boost acuator adjustment and boost by pass today and my peak boost in second is only about 8psi it seems to jump to about 6 then very slowly climb. i am running a CIA with stock pullies and a stock tune. previously i was peeking about 9 to a little over 10psi with just the CIA. i folowed the directions on svtp for the accuator adjustment and the instructions on rpm outlet's site for the by pass. the boost guage seems more responsive to throughtle in the midrange but the seet of my pants feel seems to be lacking it feels less responsive (from a dead stop it will no longer spin the tires through second they stop when it shifts) but from a role of about 40 it feels a little better than before.

will the bypass scew the reading for the guage because it is T'ed into the line or can the very humid air today in kc be throughing me off?

i did not get any warning lights so i think i did every thing right.

i will drive it this way this week and see if it seems any better during daly driving. Hopefuly it wont rain and i can take it to the track and see what it wil do.

It's more than likely just the air today. Mine wasn't acting right today either.

well you can take the boost by pass mod of, that only really works for 99-00, 01+ is computer controlled, asked Jim D. in 2002 about this for my 02 L and he just laughed

The mod won't do anything for performance. It will keep the computer from pulling boost under certain situations.

The mod in question bypasses the computer controlled solenoid. The term boost bypass is very misleading. The bypass valve isn't being bypassed and no boost is bypassed with the mod.

All the L's use the same computer controlled solenoid. While under boost and when needed the computer allows the solenoid to apply vaccuum to the bypass valve. In turn causing a "dumping" of boost. Without the solenoid in place, the bypass valve will continue to function as intended. Opening under vaccum and closing under boost. No harm will come to your engine.

You're spot on for the boost bypass mod. If it was me I'd have saved the money and just unplugged the solenoid.

What he's talking about tho is the adjustment you do to the actuator rod it's self. It will help you see boost a bit quicker.
