I'm looking at two cams, both from Comp. My question is which is better for daily driver? Anyone have experience with either?

212/218 522/529 114lsa
and
212/214 558/563 115lsa

if you aint putting a TC go with the 212/214, it has a hell of a lift
quite a few people on here like the 212/218

 

I'm guessing that you meant to put the same exhaust duration for both cams (212/218). If this is the case, my choice is to always go with more lift. But that's just me.

 

Yep, sorry it is 212/218 on both. 558/563 not too much for day to day stuff? I'm not doing a TC right now. The guy at the shop said I didn't need one with either cam.

I don't think lift is going to change your need for a torque converter, it's duration that will do that.

To me, cam lift is like sex - more is better, until you get in danger of screwing up your pistons or your valves.
