Well, the big question is what broke first.I'm guessing the rear broke ,locked up and broke the shaft. If this happened the rear has to be taken apart to see the damage.I would expect to replace the posi unit with the one mentioned above and a new set of gears.Should be $1k-$1.2. Now the big question -is the tranny hurt now?Won't know till the rest is done.

Edit- I think I found your old cam specs 214/218 .559/.562 @ 114lc however do you mean 114lc or LSA? Whats in it now? I cant see the old cam causing the IAT's to be so high. Also at 6lb your IAT would be considerably less then at 13lb. Just brainstorming here....
now 222/228 on 115...ur right about the 6 v 13lbs, but IATs were already up in the 170 area before we cranked the boost...It was prob either that or the washed rings or a combination that caused all the heat. R/

Hows that new cam feel? What kinda vaccum does it pull at idle? You must have the idle up becuase I didnt hear your belt tensioner jumping around in your vid.

really nice idle actually...not too much more aggressive than what I had...very stable around 850rpm...not sure but vac was around -10 or so...but really wasn't paying much attention...that vid was done pre-tune, and all those deets are in the second vid...cam feels great as it pulls much harder at the top end. dhpro, man i'm very sorry to hear about your new found troubles. Man i can't believe the mod god's are really busting your *****. Trust me though, i know what its like to be down and out. You just have to do whatever it takes to keep your sanity.

On a side note, i'm kinda disappointed to hear that you never really found out what EXACTLY was causing your IAT issue. its good that it was solved but would be nice to know what caused it.

Well, Slowhawk felt all along that it was the 20* of overlap on the cam, but I'm a little more convinced it was the washed rings. The motor leaked from the get-go, so I think the rings got blown pretty early on...that certainly wuda generated lots of problems as well. Of Course u can't be certain, but I'll tell u that even in the 5.3/MP112 that I had previously, when we pumpde boost up thru 10lbs, IAT's climbed right along with it (170*ish). I really believe that if ur gonna pulley down up top, then u need meth to keep the heat under control - or a better/auxiliary intercooler. R/

The last Cam had -20 degree's of overlap and the lobe timing was make for a 4.8L. This made the Cam peak very very early. The Cam now is right near 0 overlap which is mringing up the power range and making it usable.I didn't have the old graph to compare before/after on the mid.

Now,I would think the inlet is low because the boost is lower by alot bigger pulley. We will now sometime when the small pulley is swapped on but last time the inlet temp went through the roof.We are running 100% meth so that will help alot. I would like to see the high boost and how much it will gain.Would be nice to get over 500hp while keeping the inlet temp down.
