What cam for LS1 Dodge Ram

What cam for LS1 Dodge Ram
What Cam for the LS1 Ram?
-Yank sstb3600 9.5in converter
-HSW plate setup with 75 jets in
-3.90 gears
-4500lbs
-stock LS1
-ls6 intake
-longtubes
-Kimbler built 60E
Looking to smash dreams this time around, instead of just hurting feelings, I was thinking set shift points around 6,900 or so with 7200 rev limit, I plan on throwing some rod bolts in and ported/shimed oil pump..might up the shot to 100 with stand alone 110 octane or c116 to keep detonation under control

I agree that the heads will be the limiting factor. If you want to keep it on a budget I would go with LS6 heads and have a custom cam spec'd. Even something smaller then the 228 will make a world of a difference. I gained .5 in the 1/4 mile with my 222/226 and that was on a stock stall. I think in your case with the 3600 it will be an even bigger difference.

228r is about as big as you should go with a 3600 yank. If you want to make power to 7k, you'll need a set of ported heads, bigger cam, and higher stall converter to have an optimized setup. I'm sure you could blend the bowls and open up the ports on a set of LS1 heads with your back ground.
If you're bent on keeping the 3600 yank, 228r or custom spec'd cam. What gears/tire size are you running on the rear? Did you ever hook up the 4wd?

Next step is the 4wd..I have all the front end parts on the bench, just looking to get time to assemble a front end..I was planning on looking for a used front end so I can put it together and just swap it in the front one night.
gears are 3.90's on 30in tires..
Got any 15lb bottle laying around?
