So i woke up the other morning and a random thought popped into my head. I dont specifically remember torquing the lifter trays down. I remember running them down finger tight but i cannot remember if they got tightened. Heads are coming back off to check 4 stupid bolts that are probably tight but i'm just second guessing myself.
The question is, new LS9 gaskets, or re-use them with some copper coat spray?
The gaskets will be fine. The engine has not run yet to heat cycle. Do not spray them with anything.
My plan was originally to cruise it for a while, fix a few small things and flip it for a good profit. After driving it last night I might sell the 69 Camaro...Or keep them both for myself LOL, I picked it up for $4,000. 146,000 miles. It has Baer front brakes, 35mm antisway bar, intake and a Borla catback exhaust. It feels like it has a tune and shift kit but I sold EFI Live when I went to Dominator EFI in the Camaro so I cannot verify anything. it handles and drives like it's on rails! I also put a deposit on a 2021 RZR XP 1000 Turbo S. it should ship to the dealer in the next 6-8 weeks.
On another note, the rest of my Jake's stage 5 rebuild kit arrived last night. There was a back order on drums so Jake had to start building his own. I dropped all of the stage 5 rebuild kit along with the D3 trans brake valve body with my trans guy last night. The Camaro should be back and stronger than ever in the next 2-3 weeks.
My entire life I said I would never have a black car. Now I have a black Trans Am, a black on black on black Camaro and a black on black RZR....I still hate black.

I shot my 1957 Chevrolet hotrod (back in the late 70's) in black & gold DuPont Imron.
It was a once a week wash deal but man that car turned heads everywhere it went.
Don't fear the black, embrace the black
