Talking Want more power!

Hello all here.

Just like the rest of us adrenaline junkies I have a vehicle that is in some serious need of a performance face lift.

Here is what I have:
- '05 Tahoe 2wd
- 4.8l Auto Trans

I have talked to a couple of buddies regarding the "issue" and I could either do an engine swap to a 6.(0 or 2) and be good or I can do some aftermarket mods to my baby v8.

Now the question I have is, if I go with modifiying my baby v8, what is upgrade will have the most affect with least amount of money first and will that hinder future upgrades?

brgrds,

Racintck

Well no S#$@!

I have been doing that pretty much all day.

I found I have an LR4 which can be stroked to a 5.3L using internal parts or bored out to 5.7L.

But the main thing is what would be the most efficent upgrade for my 4.8L?

Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Gears and a converter would be the best, then Long tubes and Cam... Oh and the very first mod should be a tune.

Now we are talking.

Any good hookups for fair priced parts?

Speaking of CAMs What lift and duration?

5.3L parts in a 4.8L block?

Anyone know a good engine block "person" for north texas (stroke job) Not that kind...get your mind out of the gutter...

Hook another middle class brother up.

5.3 and 4.8 share the same block.

if you got a block, there's no reason not to spend the little bit of $ and build an iron 5.7. It's almost a no-brainer decision.
