Yea, I hate that **** too. I defeats the purpose of having a forum by saying "use the search button." I vote a cam and front mount. You need some torque to get that heavy bisch rollin.

Yeah all good stuff and now my buddy has me talked into a turbo...Man I just want my tahoe to have some *****!

As far as those people out there chiming in and telling people to use the search button, just ignore the post and go upon your marry way. Searchs do pull up helpful information, but they aren't the end all be all.

I am also looking into building my own cold air induction system (if I go forced induction) and exhaust. Does anyone have a good resource for tubing?

Thanks Red04Silverado I will give those guys a shout.

I will tell you what i would do. First thing get a tune from one of our sponsors----> they will retune with future mods. Next you do a cold air intake, but this is where you ask yourself how much do i want to spend? Homemade kits can work great they only lack looks. Now you need an exhaust starting at your heads get some long tubes and an offroad y pipe. Then again its time to see how fancy of an exhaust you need a good muffler and a little bit of pipe dumped under the truck workes just as good as one of those $600+ cat backs with the nice polished tips and everything its all personal preferance. After all this you should notice a little increase in your trucks ball size and the horsepower bugs bite has taken full effect. The cure is to get 6.0 throw a cam in it put some bad *** heads on it and drop it in place of of the old motor. All of your accessories and other mods will bolt rite up.

My choice would be a Magnusson MP112 (or current equivalent) blower. I did this to a 2003 4.8 and was the best mod ever. Major power increase though a bit pricey.

Thanks Guys (or Gals).

Here is where I sit and each one means big money.

- Cam (Need to tear into engine) Is it worth it?
- Exhaust (muffler and dump pipes) What would I change if I did headers or F.I.?
- Cold Air intake - Don't want to waste that money if I decide to go F.I.

So "small dollar" mod's are necessary to start off with that will not force me in to either N.A. or F.I.

I feel like a chick standing in front of a shoe store.

Called them this morning and unfortunately they do not do anything with that block (LR4).

In my opinion, yes, as long as the PCM is tuned accordingly. My cam along with the proper injectors and tuning was good for a .9 and almost 8mph gain in the 1/4.

the 4.8/5.3 block can be bored out to ls1 size and then just use their 383 kit for ls1s. after that i recommend full exhaust with lt headers. also recommend a tbss intake with 90mm tb unless your going with a maggie supercharger. if so i would find one for the tbss and still use the 90mm tb. just my two cents. hope it adds up. lol
