Are there two types of valve seals for the 5.3L truck engines? I'm ordering some replacement parts and I see some that look like they have the spring seat as part of the seal. And then theres the seals that just press on, which are the ones I'm used to. Anyone know which ones I need... '01 ECSB 5.3L, 2wd. Thanks!

 

the factory ones just slip on, the intake are a different size than the exhaust side smaller or bigger cant remember of hand but you can order them from patriot or orielys

 

Yours will have the spring seats built in, thats what were on my stock motor.

 

If you're running the stock valve springs, then you need the ones with the spring shim built in.

 

What the part number for these? I will be running LS1 springs, are those considered "stock"?

 

Yes, considered stock. Your local dealer will have part numbers. As stated earlier, the intake and exhaust are different part numbers.

 

Mike, lol, I'm in the same boat as you going from a HOSS to a truck. Some stuff is completely different.
