I thought that porting the tb wouldn't give you "real" hp?

That I am, talking about the manifold that is! The site that I am referring to is a TBSS site that has a very knowledgeable vendor on what it takes to get these manifolds to perform. Do some digging to find out if you're interested.

i have one slapped on my 5.3... non ported, it really made a difference... i had talked to the guy who ports the TBSS intakes... talked to him over the phone... said he would charge $600 to port the intake itself and the Throttle Body too...$450 to port the intake ONLY... process would be bout 2 wks or so... wonder how much the gains would be on something like this??

From what I gather just reading the 20 page thread on that site, they saw an actual 25 HP gain, and around 15 lbft., both peak values. I do remember them trying to figure out if there was a difference in stock shaping of the ports, and as a consequence, the net gains shown between the 05/06 & 07/08 intakes. I believe they all ended up at close (within 2-3 hp) to the same peak figures. The cost to value ratio at that point to have the work done would be greater on the 05/06 intakes as they saw a greater gain over stock, but I feel that is a moot point.
