hahaha thanks jackass
I decided to get a damn t/c. I just did a lotta diggin' on this site and several others and I definitely won't be buying a TCI t/c. Looks like I'm getting a yank TT3000. I'm doin all my xmas shopping this friday so maybe I'll have some money around new years to get my t/c. My ****** knee surgery is keeping me from doing it now . Im headed to vegas in the morning so maybe I'll hit it big and just buy an LS7 for the truck haha.

I'm anxious, but wanna do it right the first time and not regret doing somethin else.
If you have your mind set on a 220, I would get a 9.5inch fuddle 3200. But, if I were you and did want to not hinder towing, I would get the comp XR265HR, yank 3000tt, and 4.10 gears. Your truck would move very nicely with some bolt-ons.

that's pretty much what I'm lookin at right now. The TR220 is nice and the perf gains are good, but it's just a bit too choppy for me. The XR265HR better fits the mods I currently have and has the powerband I want. If I ever end up doing something bigger than just a cam and nitrous this 5.3 isn't gonna stay lol. Looks like I've found a good deal on a used xr265 already. Wish I coulda picked up your converter
Is the cam install tool that thunder racing sells really worth it? I believe the pen magnets should hold just fine, but once again I've never done a swap on a genIII

I would have to say no on that one. Unless you are planning on doing a ton of swaps and even then it's debatable. You can also use some wooden dowls instead of pen magnets. Of all my reading it seems either method works fine.

If you are brave there is also the spin the cam to lock the lifters up and pray method... They are suppose to stay up there and I know someone who has done a swap or two that way without them falling.

the TR220 is nice if you want the lope, dont expect hardly any lope on the x265.... I have the x265 on my DD and it harldy lopes, but it does pull pretty damn good, and did not loose any low end on a 4wd..... if you go with the TR220 you can also use the LS6 springs which would be alot cheaper than the 918's... by the way search on the classifieds section, a local member "KB" had his yank tt3000 for sale for only $400, and it has very very low miles on it...

I like my Phoenix Trans stall 2800 to 3,000 also most of the TrailBlazer SS guy's are using them. $300 to $385 range with the anti - ballooning plate for nitrous. It likes the street real well but will flash to 3,000 at wot. I think I am as heavy is most trucks & on a stock block, stock cam & heads with bolt-on's & a small shot of nitrous ran a 12.12 @ 112.93 mph. It has some 11's in it on my next run. I had bad track prep so I was rolling out too far before hitting the nitrous. I have Nitto DR's & should be seeing some 11.80's to 11.90's soon. Time slip:

I have built L92 heads ready to install but worried about PV clearance. I replaced the nozzle system with the Nitrous Outlet 2 stage plate plus pulled 200 lbs. May just add a good torque cam low/mid (mild lift & duration) for a deeper 11's. I have less then $3500.00 in my truck to run 11's so I may save for a short-block. LOL
Any cam suggestions for a heavy truck?
